Raising the Boiler for the Firebox
Saturday, January 9, 2010 by MCIn order to get the firebox into place we raised the entire boiler on cribbing. We lifted the smokebox and each back corner a few inches at a time using our overhead crane. We blocked it up with cribbing as we went - a slow but steady process. Once the firebox was under, we reversed the process to get the boiler back down to a managable height.
