Saddle bolts
Robert bores out the holes for the saddle bolts


Saddle bolts

Holes for the saddle bolts must be bored in the new smokebox. They were first transfer punched through the saddle from the outside and then a pilot hole drilled. Moving inside the holes were bored out with the mag drill. They will then be reamed out and new tapered bolts fitted.
