Lots of Tapered Bolts
Sunday, June 14, 2020 by MCMost of the bolts holding pieces of the locomotive together have tapered shafts. This requires us to ream the holes with tapered reamers and to machine the bolt shaft to fit the hole. After that the threads are machined and the bolts cut to length before driving them home.
