Hanger modification
Wednesday, November 11, 2020 by MCA key component in the suspension system of the locomotive is this hanger for the aft end of the equalizing beam between the lead truck and the #1 driver. It is obvious that the lower end that carries the beam is badly worn, so we decided to replace the worn cross piece. Initial installation revealed that a previous modification of this piece (note the weld in the center of the link) was done incorrectly and the it also had to be lengthened.
